New VSee Pricing

One fact of selling a service such as VSee is that the real value becomes apparent once one starts using the product. That’s the reason many companies in this space offer a free trial, typically for 14 or 30 days.  Others offer a free version with limited capabilities, with the hope that some portion of their users will pay to upgrade to a version with more features.  After talking to our customers and observing how they use VSee, we concluded that any pricing model must meet the following criteria:

  • Give our users an opportunity to experience all of the power of VSee, especially those capabilities that set us apart, such as six-at-once video, multiple windows of application sharing, drag-and-drop file transfer.
  • Enable people to get real work done with any version of the product. For businesses and government, this means providing always-on encryption and Active Directory single sign-on.
  • Offer the free version for long enough that people can see how they can incorporate it into their workflow.
The value of a communications product follows Metcalfe’s Law, which states that the worth of a network is roughly proportional to the square of the number of users connected to the network. If there is only one telephone, fax machine, or copy of VSee there isn’t anyone to call. Having two let’s you communicate a friend or colleague, but connecting everyone in your organization is tremendously useful.
So, our new pricing model is very simple:
  • Download and use VSee with all of its features to call up to ten other people, for free, for as long as you like.
  • If you want to call more than ten people, upgrade to the professional version for US$50 per month.
So use VSee for free to call your friends and family, or to try it in a small workgroup.  We’re convinced you will find it so valuable that pretty soon everyone in your organization will use it.
