I am currently writing this from the beach with my Apple Laptop (running Windows), headphones, and a verizon EVDO card. I have a full signal connection with Verizon and I had a pretty good connection having a three-way call with Erik and Yuen-lin. There was a little delay with my audio, but that is to be expected using a cell phone connection for my Internet. It is really bright here and it is dificult to see my screen. Next time I try this I am going to use a tablet PC. It is designed to work well out in the sun and my laptop is not. Also I will bring my Logitech 9000 because it works better in the sun than my built-in camera.
All in all I think this is pretty good. The two kids i’m with are playing happily in the sand and are getting some nice fresh air instead of sitting in the house watching TV and playing video games. And instead of being stuck inside all day I get to be in the sun. Of course maybe I should be at the park instead because I wouldn’t be so afraid of getting sand in my computer. 🙂 Or I could have been smart and brought myself one of my beach chairs.
I have to conclude that this has gone well and I look forward to the next time when I am better equipped.

Yes, wireless broadband is incredibly liberating. When I called you yesterday I was using the Verizon EVDO built in to my Lenovo Thinkpad W500. I’m not sure which surprised my guests more – me making a video call from a hotel lobby or you answering from the beach.
Hey, my neck of the woods! Next frontier? VSee from the Big Dipper!
I’ve made VSee calls using EVDO Revision-A connection during my daily train commute to work. I use my Phoenix Audio Duet. I get many stares and questions and the fun waving to my team on the other ends. The other participants (usually connecting from the office or from home) are quite used to it by now and are good sports about it. It’s a hoot.
Curious, I have recently been using the MAC with Fusion setup and it seems to work great. But we have noticed that out of the 6-10 sessions with other Windows laptops or desktops, this MAC is the only one that has some performance issues. The camera view is usually close to a second behind actual movement. Are the video tweaking requirements / adjustments to make for the MAC / Fusion process to work without delay?
Thanks,
